2001 – Present: Owner & Teacher, Pilates Powerhouse
NW, Seattle Washington. A fully-equipped, full service Classical
Pilates studio, employing from 2 to 10 instructors, 1 – 3
administrative staff. All accounting, payroll, marketing, advertising
and business management responsibilities. Develop and manage
off site teaching relationships. Public speaking includes presenting
at national competitive and recreational figure skating industry
conferences, local skating and rowing coaches, groups and organizations.
Produced instructional sport-specific mat DVD, Pilates on Ice.
Produced Transitions and Order DVD, showing transitions for
intermediate reformer and mat.
2002 – present: On-site mat teacher for Lakewood Winter
Club figure skaters at their home rink, Sprinker Recreation

May 2004 – Presented at the joint international conference
of Ice Skating Institute and Professional Skating Association
in San Diego. I presented a similar workshop as the previous
year. The PSA is the national organization of coaches, judges
and other industry professionals which governs competitive
skating programs and competitions.
May 2003 – Presented at Ice Skating Institute international
conference in Las Vegas. My lecture was titled Pilates and
Figure Skating: The Perfect Pair, and included an overview
of the anatomy of Pilates as it applies to skating, injury
prevention and performance enhancement. I also taught a basic
mat class following the lecture. The ISI is the national organization
of coaches, judges and other industry professionals which governs
recreational skating programs and competitions.
1995 – 2000 – Business Manager, environmental
consulting firm, Seattle, Washington. Personnel functions for
staff of 8 – 10 employees, insurance administration,
quarterly and annual tax functions. Cash flow and contract
management with large civil and environmental engineering firms
and federal, state and local government entities. All accounting
functions.
1988 – 1995 – Custom Business Services, Bend,
Oregon & Seattle, Washington. Freelance business services.
Featured Clients:
The largest exotic livestock auction in North America, set
the record for most paid for a llama at auction ($182k). Automated
accounting for the sales which occurred twice yearly. Between
$1 and $4 million changed hands over a 3-day sale. Took accounting
system from a hand written system to full automation using
self-designed and created relational databases.
Bookkeeper and front office for doctor-owned wellness center
in Bend, Oregon. All accounting, scheduling, intake of new
clients.
